Beautiful Life

The beautiful early autumn mornings as winter draws nearer and nearer are filled with the crisp cold fresh air and the sounds of the sombre beautiful bird songs which echo through time. Nature settles down for winter and prepares for the oncoming Frost.

The days are short and sweet and the night is long and romantic. The coseyness of the orange glow of firelight and the low moon lighting up the skies as old man moon glows upon the world. Soon his glow shall sparkle on the frosty fields and trees.

How I adore the trees covered with snow, How I embrace the fields of white as I pass through the countryside. The closed gate of a farmers field and beyond the fence is natures most dangerous friend of snow glowing white in the cold night.

The cold brings a magic wind and memories of childhood. I remember gazing out of my window as a boy watching the snow. Hoping it will snow upon snow upon snow. I remember the magic of peeping out the window just for a glimpse of father Christmas. The magic of Father Christmas comes from within the faith he installs within us all.

Nothing in life is joyless. When you experience your last few breaths of life you realize everything in life was beautiful says the spirits. The whisper amongst the trees is life is beautiful and ancient and majestic.

There is no greater liberator of the mind and soul for gratitude. We arrived here in this world after our journey against millions of other sperm cells to our mothers womb. We are special, unique and the chosen ones – the ones who was blessed to see life and beauty and knowledge and wisdom through the short spell of beautiful life we travel through. Life was an advanced intelligence even before birth.

Life is a mystery, a gift and a goddess. Life is a beautiful creation. Those who say life is an accident need to look at the miracles which exist within their children’s eyes.

Through the cold fresh winter morning streets is kindness, compassion and humanity through out the people. There is kindred dreams and wishes through out the people of humanity. There is a world we share together in this time of which we must leave a beautiful world of peace, acceptance and kindness for our children to grow strong and stable and happy.

There is nothing more cruel, calm and deceptive than early cold winter mornings in nature, but nature gives us truths and the truth is the cruel cold winter brings a warmth from people and a togetherness and an atmosphere. It brings romance and golden times and memories. It gives us uncertainty and the reminder of the love we have for others who face the cruelty and danger of winter as they set off into the colds and the snows.

I love the feeling of covering my mouth and nose with a scarf which also covers my neck as I brave the cold and it keeps me warm and I can feel my warm breath.

Beautiful life is the most precious and beautiful of all gifts. There is beauty within everything. There is beauty from sunrise to sunset. From person to person. From conception to death.

I dont know exactly how many Summers and Winters I have left, but I must enjoy them all, I must respect the blessing I was given and face the danger and romance of life head on and go into the storms and the snowstorms happy and free of mind and soul because – Within everything – is beautiful life

These stairs to Bed

The house I live in now I moved into in 2013 but it was built in the 1950s. Before I lived here it had been a family home. Where people had spent their times and childhoods had been played here and people had grown up here as the ticks of time passed by. Love and marriages had been here and peoples memories and sentiments.

But as I never knew them and didn’t live there with them I sometimes stop and think as time passes by and my own memories are forged as to who once lived here? How many people had taken these stairs to bed just like I am, How many memories had been made in these rooms, how many children had grown up safe and warm in these rooms? The very rooms I occupy are the same rooms people occupied before me. This was their life.

In the lounge how many Christmas presents and excitement of Christmas mornings had there been over the years? How many faces had lit up? What was their Christmas night like? Was there many happy times in these rooms? Was the kitchen once a place of nice smells of cooking?

Moving into a new home sometimes there is still things from the previous occupiers such as carpets or white goods. Kitchen cupboards etc and this was part of their life. Some day all the things I leave behind shall be witnessed and left for someone else. Will they ever wonder who I am or who I was?

People grow up and move on and so does life. But the house remains here as it was to start with. The same four walls are still here and the echoes of time still are here.

The house was sold as the woman who owned it had gone into a home and is by now sadly probably passed away. Her children had grown up here and moved away and sold the house. Their time here had come to an end. Their era was over and a new era began. But do we ever consider what has happened in them rooms we now spend our lives?

Perhaps one day someone else will be taking these very stairs to bed just like I do and the people before me. Will they ever know of the people and the memories and the life’s which unfolded in these four walls?

The Magic of Christmas

The magic of Christmas there is absolutely no escaping from this time of year. Religious or not religious everyone enjoys this time of year. There is atmosphere and music and a vibe from the lights and the visions and the dream of Santa and his reindeer which covers everyone at Christmas.

This time of year possesses a romance, of cold from weather and warmth from fire and candles. It has become embedded in culture and Western DNA. Absolutely everyone enjoys the Christmas period.

It is a magical time. Come the Christmas season we all return to our own childhood and we all watch and embrace Christmas films. The image of Santa and his Reindeer flying across the snowy sky, the feeling of the magic of Santa when we was children knowing we had to go to bed because Santa Claus was coming in the morning would be presents under the tree.

As Children most of us used to listen out for the sounds of Reindeer on the roof on Christmas night or peep out the window hoping we would see him flying across the sky.

We all have dreams of Santa and we all have dreams of snow and a white Christmas. We all enjoy Christmas songs and music and the romance.

The dark nights I always remember at home as a child and the fire roared and stockings hung from the fire place and lots of Holly spread across the mantelpiece and candles flickered. It was Christmas and magic hung in the air. The Windows had Frost round the edges on the outside and damp and condensation. Candy Canes hung from the tree. The lights of the tree glowed on the tree and the Angel sat high on top. I sat in the chair and wondered what would Santa bring and how many presents would be under the tree when the exciting Christmas morning comes.

Even those who are not religious all year round still enjoy and embrace and often join in Christmas songs of baby Jesus and the nativity story. We all become filled with anticipation and excitement when Christmas comes around.

Christmas is a wonderful time of love and family and giving and peace on Earth. It is a time of cold and warm and kindness and compassion. People dreaming of the wonder of Christmas morning, the family coming round and a wonderful Christmas dinner together. Christmas parties are something to look forward to as there are plenty to attend. To see friends and family often and enjoy time and make memories with many people who you care for. Christmas brings people together and re-unites families from afar.

Up in the loft is a timeless place. I went in my mothers loft once to get her Christmas decorations down for her. If you have lived in a house long enough the loft can become a place of history and wonder and a museum to your life. As you search for the Christmas decorations here you shall find objects and decorations from Christmases from long ago and toys and gifts which bring memories flooding back to the surface from childhood and of people who have long since passed on and no longer with us. This sends us back in time to a Christmas yesteryear.

Exploring the loft as an adult who spends most of the year living the struggles and stresses of adult life I still return to the magic of the feeling of a child at Christmas and it is hard to escape from. It takes over you and you become romanced by it.

I can remember being a child and going for a real Christmas tree from the local forest park. The atmosphere was good and it was cold and fun and music played everywhere. I remember being in the living room and the room was full of the smell of the Christmas tree pine. I remember thinking that there is nothing nicer than a room lit by a christmas tree and the christmas light glow. The reflection and sounds of the tinsel and the glow of candles.

Whether you believe in religion or Christianity or not Christmas has a way of pulling you back in. It is a time of humanity and peace and family. It is a time of care and compassion and fun and dreams. A time of magical colours and moments and memories from childhood to present. The beautiful smells cooking and Santa everywhere we look.

May everyone have a beautiful Christmas.

A winters vision

Once upon a time many years ago I was blessed to look out of my window one early winter morning and seen a world dominated by snow. The rooftops were covered in blankets of snow and the ground was white everywhere.

The winter had begun and shown us its dangerous yet amazing beauty within snow. People were dusting off snow from their cars. A few skids of car wheels could be heard. Snow is romantic yet dangerous and exciting.

Smoke poured out from chimney to chimney and it was like a scene from Victorian England. A snow kissed scene from a yesteryear.

There was icicles hanging from the pipes and the gutters. The pond was frozen and children were daring to stand on the solid ice panicing in case they fell through into icy waters. It was a magical scene which even in the bleakest coldest of seasons there is beauty and amazement.

Everyone wore gloves and hats and scarves to keep warm. People walked their dogs in the silent winter weather. Their breaths appeared from them like a steam engine. The winter morning was of wonder. I looked round and basked in the beautiful morning. Nature was silent and it had become outside a kingdom of Children.

Schools were closed and children stayed in the snow long into the day. All they had to do was enjoy life and play.

Laughter and fun filled the air, snowballs flying everywhere. Children built snowmen and enjoyed the snow in their hands. A winters walk of romance for others and the white glass of ice under their feet.

Snow clung onto the trees and hung onto the rooftops. The sky turning white just like the canvas on the floor.

A Robin pecked at the ice in a bird bath. It was a wonderful scene.

Its a magic time on a magical day from my own history which the memory has always stayed with me.

The beauty of winter, the creeping early winter night, Heralds the arrival of the coseyness of the firelight,

The darkness of Winter, with the cold chill in the air, warmly lit houses everywhere,

Oh the sombre of winter, quickly setting on the horizon does the sun go, soon you will embrace us with your hazardous yet beautiful snow,

Oh the darkness of winter, I feel your hostile frosty glare, your bitter cold presence, yet you install romance everywhere,
Oh everywhere you have wrapped in your blanket of frost, Cold yet amazed by winter, in this beauty I am so lost,

Oh the sombre winter, how I love to be safe and warm at home, by the fireside, away from you winter my old foe who I have always known,

Oh the darkness of winter, of your dangers I am all to aware, icey roads everywhere,
But tonight winter my old foe, upon this night,

Be sure I am safe under the cosey warmth of wonderful firelight
